Brunch at Art Restaurant, Four Seasons Hotel Seattle

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

We were so hungry waiting for a late lunch, we decided to get a quick bite downstairs

We saw that the restaurant joined the Dine Around Seattle

img_6449.jpgimg_6451.jpg

so we chose the US$ 15.00 lunch which cost even cheaper than one dish on the menu

img_6445.JPG

Wow!  Good value or money meal 🙂 James and I just split this and we were still okay for our lunch at 130pm

Cafe Lago, Seattle

By | Foodie, Travel | One Comment

I try my  best to get in touch with all my batch mates and friends.  And when I travel to where they live, I want to catch up with them and find out how they are in their new life 🙂

I was so happy I finally got to visit Ellen in Seattle!  We have been planning this for a few years now and finally got to go to Seattle!  And to show you how fast time flies, she is now married and has a son, Parker!

cafe-lago-02.jpg

She took us to Cafe Lago for a quick dinner, Thank you Jeremy and Ellen!!

cafe-lago-01.jpgcafe-lago-03.jpgcafe-lago-04.jpgcafe-lago-05.jpg

And here is the complete family!!  with husband Jeremy!

Poor Parker, who was so hungry already

cafe-lago-010.jpg

Ellen told me that she feeds Parker sometimes with this:-)  I’ve been left behind with inventions in the Mommy category.  Now they have these squeeze tetra packs that work so easy and well.  You just attach a spoon and squeeze and feed directly to the child! 🙂

cafe-lago-016.jpg

Parker enjoyed it and finished it so fast!!! 🙂

cafe-lago-017.jpg

Eating bread 🙂  And a new invention – a bib that catches food 🙂

cafe-lago-019.jpgcafe-lago-013.jpgcafe-lago-020.jpg

Such a happy baby 🙂

cafe-lago-018.jpg

And here is the happy dad who helps out.  Happily showing us his diaper dude

Barking Frog, Woodinville Wine Country

By | Accomodations, Foodie, Travel | 2 Comments

My friend, Ellen, recommended that we go to The Herb Farm which is supposedly their version of French Laundry.

barking-frog-03.jpg

We tried to reserve but they were closed for lunch and the concierge recommended the next door restaurant, Barking Frog.  So we drove around 40 minutes away from the city to Woodinville Wine Country.  It’s beside the Willows Lodge

Day 1 in Seattle was a Sunday so of course Mom was searching for her Sunday brunch!!  This was recommended by the hotel

We were already so hungry and we had to drive around 25 minutes from the hotel, for me it was worth it! 🙂

Waiting area! Apparently there is always a line to get a seat at Salty’s.  It’s a very popular restaurant

They have scones, coffee, tea while you wait 🙂

Elliot’s Seattle

By | Foodie, Travel | One Comment

As soon as we arrived in Seattle, we had dinner at Dad’s favorite resto! Elliot’s!  After the whole trip, I must say, it is also my favorite resto in Seattle

elliots-02.jpg

elliots-logo.png

elliots-01.jpgelliots-03.jpg

FRESH Oysters!!! which explains why Dad and Mom like this place!

elliots-04.jpgelliots-05.jpgelliots-028.jpgelliots-029.jpgelliots-06.jpgelliots-07.jpgelliots-08.jpg

First order – a dozen  of 3 different kinds

elliots-013.jpgelliots-014.jpgelliots-015.jpgelliots-016.jpg

It was so good, they ordered 1 more dozen

elliots-019.jpgelliots-020.jpgelliots-011.jpgelliots-012.jpg

YUMMY!! Love ordering Calamari in seafood places!  So fresh and so crispy!

elliots-017.jpg

This is one of the best crabcakes I have ever tried in my entire life!  It tastes different from all the other crabcakes!! LOVE IT!!!!

elliots-018.jpg

And this is the other and the main reason why Dad and Mom love Elliot’s!  FRESH DUNGENESS CRABS!!!

elliots-09.jpg

They didn’t want to share with each other nor with James and I- they had 1 each!! 🙂

elliots-021.jpgelliots-023.jpg

It comes with these sidings

elliots-022.jpg

I love watching my Dad and Mom eat crabs! It’s truly a HAPPY MOMENT!!

elliots-024.jpg

My hot water 🙂

elliots-025.jpg

Cleaning our hands after holding the crabs 🙂

elliots-026.jpg

A unique way of removing the smell from your hands- the waiter crushed crackers in our hands and you just rub it and voila no more crab smell!!!

Korean Air

By | Foodie, Travel | 3 Comments

We normally take Japan Airlines to the States, but recently we have been using Korean Airlines.

lkorean-air-ogo_ke.jpg

Flights are from Manila to Seoul, then from there, they have flights direct to the States and so far i have tried – LA, Seattle and New York. So far so good!

My seatmate!!!  Jim Clancy from CNN!

korean-airlines-09.jpg

I wish i took photos of the stewardess but I assure you they are even prettier than these ones I googled.  They were all tall, slim, pretty with very very nice pearly white skin!

 korean-stewardess7.jpg

Our food on board

korean-airlines-02.jpgkorean-airlines-03.jpgkorean-airlines-04.jpgkorean-airlines-05.jpg

They always have Bibimbap as a choice, James seems to like this

korean-airlines-01.jpgkorean-airlines-06.jpg

I wanted the milkfish, but they ran out so i got the chicken

korean-airlines-07.jpgkorean-airlines-08.jpgkorean-airlines-010.jpgkorean-airlines-012.jpgkorean-airlines-013.jpgkorean-airlines-014.jpgimg_5570.JPGkorean-airlines-011.jpgkorean-airlines-015.jpgimg_5573.JPG

When we arrived, customs asked me if I brought any snacks – any magic sarap? any chicharon?  Oh my gosh, I had chicharon.  A friend asked me to bring chicharon for her and apparently it is not allowed!  So they had to open my suitcase and analyze my chicharon.  I had chicharittos which was pork and they confiscated it but they let me keep the others which were vegetable chicharon
