The Breadery

By | Foodie | No Comments

Super love this place – The Breadery  at Emerald Mansion, Emerald Ave, Ortigas . Freshly baked breads in unique kinds. Made with natural yeast. They just opened last December and have a branch also in UP Towncenter. For the makati residents they are in Salcedo Market every Saturday and in Powerplant Mall every weekend too.  Hoping they open something like this in MakatiThe Breadery (2)

The Breadery Brand Story_002

So happy to meet the boss at the Breadery.  He calls himself the “caretaker” 🙂  He grew up in Bacolod that’s why he knows my family and then studied in Canada then came back to Bacolod then Manila. It took them five years to really study the business and now they have the Breadery with some partner friends.  He is so meticulous about the ingredients and he told me that they use the best and healthiest ingredients. They use Natural yeast which makes the bread Soft and chewy and since its natural yeast that flattens the glycemic index it takes away heartburn and acid reflux. Helps prevent or reverse gluten intolerance. I’m definitely eating this bread The Breadery (27)

By | Foodie, SSI Group Inc | No Comments

With the Filipino urbanites’ fast-paced lifestyle, eating healthy meals has been the easy thing to sacrifice due to its inconvenience. Time-consuming, unappealing, and bland – this is the usual connotation behind hearty and nutritious meals. But what if healthy meals can now be accessible, scrumptious, and affordable?

This year, the spotlight gets brighter on health as Philippine FamilyMart CVS, Inc. launches its Health and Wellness line. Eating healthy has never been this convenient – no need to spare hours to prepare when it’s now just a few minutes away with exceptional ready-meals available straight from any Philippine FamilyMart store nationwide.

Fresh n' Lite by FamilyMart Logo

“We, at Philippine FamilyMart, ultimately want to make healthy quality food accessible to every Filipino,” shares Ed Paredes, Jr., General Manager for FamilyMart. “We hear the cry of our busy and on-the-go consumers for a one-stop place where they could get tasty and nourishing food that’s fresh, quick, and available.”

Beginning March 2015, FamilyMart beefs up its food selections with the introduction of its health and wellness line featuring ten dishes – ranging from rice meals, to pasta, and even classic snacks Filipinos will surely love. The new line boasts of the following dishes: Breakfast Chicken Rice, Breakfast Beef Rice, Smoked Fish Rice, Healthy Hainanese Chicken, Kimchi Beef Rice, Chicken Pomodoro, Spanish Sardine Arabiatta, Veggie Sticks with Hummus dip, classic taho, and mango taho – all packed with essential vitamins such as vitamins A, C, E, and other minerals.

“With our new Fresh n’ Lite product line, we hope to make it easier for Filipinos to create promising and feasible healthy lifestyles beginning with the food they eat without having to sacrifice great flavor,” adds Paredes. As FamilyMart offers fresh food choices to Filipinos, the opportunity to nourish oneself in a positive way has become more attainable. “Now, it’s just a matter of making a decision. With the growing demand for food options supporting heathy eating habits, that choice has become very simple,” concluded Paredes.

Last Dinner at Lola’s House

By | Celebrations, Foodie | One Comment

21 days after Lola Charing passed away, we had one last meal at her home where she lived 56 years of her life. We all grew up here and this is the place where we would get together with the family with many fond memories. The few days before she left us, the family would go here to visit her and so it was many days of seeing the family. Lola was very weak and There were several false alarms and I wondered why she didn’t want to go yet. And many times I felt that Lola liked seeing us gather there around her together as a family, which was why she didn’t want to leave us so quickly. And I noticed that now the family is even closer. We  getting together because we want to feel Lola, we feel comfort being together and we have one thing in common – Our  for Lola Last Dinner at Lola's House (2)
