Home Cooking in London

By | Foodie, Recipes, Travel | No Comments

I am so glad we had a lot of home cooking in London 🙂 It’s worth it to rent a flat in London than stay in a hotel.  Another advantage is you can cook 🙂  Too expensive to eat out all the time 🙂

Of course we have Mom’s inherited adobo recipe from Lola Glecy.  Good comfort food whenever hungry and craving for Pinoy food

Chistorra chorizo from the Borough Market 🙂  cooked for breakfast and fried rice made out of the chorizo oil

Spaghetti Bolognese made by my sister in law, Margs!! So yummy!!!!  I need to ask for the recipe!  She makes this for the kids, but I am the one eating it 🙂

Yum!!! So easy to cook!! Just fry straight from the freezer.  Fried is better than baked

Foie gras from Borough Market 🙂

Interruption.  Mom’s sign in the dining room 🙂

This is my recipe!  It has to be simple 🙂  I just bought all the ingredients and put them all together 🙂  I love it that you can buy the meringue in nice shapes already and abundance of fresh mixed berries are valuable to me even if in Europe or in the States its relatively cheap compared to buying it here in Manila

Raclette Yum 😉

Duck A L’Orange from Marks and Spencer was good 🙂 Just follow heating instructions

This was the trout we caught in Bibury Trout Farm in the Cotswolds!! Mom made it into Sinigang.  She bought the sinigang mix and bagoong in the Filipino store in Earls Court.  The Dagupan Bagoong is so good!!!!  Where can we buy that here???

The original Zuma is this one in Knightsbridge, London.  We have been to two out of the 6 ( as of 2013 )  in other countries and we love Zuma.  This is probably the best so far among all

When you order sashimi and sushi, they put it together in a nice arrangement like this 🙂  It varies depending on the order and the platter changes as well.  I saw many passing by and on the Sushi counter

Very good service – Bharat was overseeing our table and we are well taken cared of

It’s very busy at Zuma,  so it’s quite difficult to get a reservation

The Orangery at Kensington Gardens

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

The beginning of the maze at Kensington Gardens leading to the Orangery

SO LOVELY!!!! This is what I mean why I love London!  Everything is done so elegantly and with taste!  It’s simple yet not really simple but strikes me so much with it’s charm and beauty

LOVE!

Because I was admiring the gardens too much and taking photos, we got to the Orangery almost lunch time already

Love the teacups

We ordered one breakfast menu while we were waiting for 12 noon

Freshly Baked Croissant with Honey Roast Wiltshire Ham and Mature Cheddar Cheese

Full English

Our hosts who we love so much 🙂  Rina and Suharto 🙂

When I like a certain dinnerware or China, I always look under to peek at the brand or where it is made 🙂

Jafar’s

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

Gretchen took us outside Banilad Towncenter and told us to try this Shawarma place which is very very popular in Cebu.  They sell around 500 orders a day!  Price range is from P 79.00 to P 139.00 – do the math 🙂  That’s a lot for a foodstall 🙂

We tried the US Angus Shawarma wrap – I wanted the rice version but they ran out

Sauces

I saw the pretty lady waiting for her order

Apparently she is a reader of Heart2Heart 🙂  Heidi Blanco 🙂  She saw me taking photos and she told me that she is a viewer.  I was so happy!!!  She told me that she loves this place and has been back many times already

They even have these already!

YUMMY!!

Tatang’s Lechon

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

We really made good use of our one day time in Cebu!!!  🙂

Gretchen pointed us towards this place in AS Fortuna which we gladly wanted to try 🙂

It’s by a car wash

Acoording to Gretchen this is the best boneless pork belly

Caught them grilling 🙂

Wow look at the crispy skin!!

Puso hanging rice

Deadly but yum!!!!

Spicy version – for some reason it was not as crispy as the regular but it was still good but too spicy for me

YUM YUM YUM!!

You have to use your hands but they give you disposable plastic gloves in case you don’t want to use your hands directly haha 🙂  I love it 🙂 Only in the Philippines!

Our guard and driver joined us! Enjoying also 🙂

Many people order for delivery and take out which I think might be the best

 Friendly staff 🙂

They had just opened their second branch
