The River Cafe London

By | Foodie, Travel | No Comments

With PAL, it’s so easy to go to London now!!  You arrive around 3pm in the afternoon and have time for dinner before going to bed 🙂  We had an Italian dinner by the River Thames.  The weather was beautiful we ate outdoors.  It had been warm the past couple of days before we arrived so it was pleasant that evening

It would probably be nice to live in one of these flats by the River Thames 🙂

We were lucky to get a table since the whole place was full in no time even if we came at 630pm

OMG! A pink wood fired oven for Heart2Heart 🙂

Sugi 30 Years After

By | Foodie | One Comment

30 years ago, Sugi opened and it was instantly a favourite for many!  Our family were regulars on James side and on my side.  Gina ( Chief Gina ) was one of the pioneers and 30 years after she is still there.  It’s so nice to see loyal employees who stay.  And obviously she is one of the seniors there as she wears a kimono 🙂

Sugi has an extensive menu but for some reason, we just order the same things!

Spicy tuna

Sushi and sashimi including the california maki

Kare kare bone

Tori Teba Nanbanzuke – THE BEST! We can eat tons of this

Tempura

We were so happy to be back at Vask!  It’s been awhile.  The last time we were here was when it just opened last year

At the Gallery you can have the degustation menu of Vask.  I am looking forward to trying this.  This is where you will experience the Arzak meal 🙂

I love molecular gastronomy!  They did two sample desserts while we were there and definitely Vask is up to date with the trends in the Culinary scene

This was our first time to see Curve which completes the whole Vask profile.  I love the feel of this place

Cantino

By | Foodie | No Comments

Tried out a place by a car shop!!  It’s in the Saatchi House in Pasong Tamo

You have to go in the narrow road till the end

Till you see the car shop.  My husband discovered this place while he was checking on our car that was being repaired in European Motors.  He was so happy to tell me about it because he knew I would like the place.

Lime and Basil

By | Foodie | One Comment

Heart2Heart has been to Tagaytay quite often the past few months and loving it 🙂  Our friend, Maryliz of Hillcreek Gardens, told us about this place near Hillcreek called Lime and Basil.  It is in the same street as Marcia Adams.  This area is actually Alfonso Cavite – I love both!!!

The owner was there,  Sigrid Sarmiento

Beside the restaurant lot is another lot which has it’s own entrance which reminds me of a resort 🙂  And there is even a golf cart in front 🙂  This is their residence with her parents

You can see the house from the restaurant

Stockton Place

By | Foodie | One Comment

Heart2Heart finally tried out Stockton Place after several attempts to reserve with Chef Andrew Escaler.  Unfortunately he was out of the country at the time we were there.  So we missed him.  His restaurant is in the building of my Lola 🙂

stockton-place-1.JPG

Though I like variety, I appreciate a simple and short menu.  It makes ordering easy 🙂  and you know that they focus on what they do best – Menu on the board
stockton-place-2.JPG
stockton-place-3.JPG

And on the clip board 🙂 I liked the presentation of every dish and the uniqueness of their dishes.  I love trying new tastes and combinations.  I never expect a dish to taste like something I have tasted before or for it to be a certain taste that is why I like almost everything 🙂  Each chef has their own interpretation of a certain dish and I love partaking of that creation
