By | Travel | No Comments

Five years ago, we went to Bohol and we had the chance to visit Eskaya when it was just about to be opened. Click below for the photos

Previous Entry:  Eskaya January 4, 2008

This time, we had the opportunity to stay here.  We were so happy to be back on Bohol for another experience!!!

A warm welcome at the airport.  They take care of claiming your luggages and you just get into the car and go to the resort

and a warm welcome as you arrive in Eskaya 🙂

eskaya-bohol-02.jpgeskaya-bohol-04.jpgeskaya-bohol-05.jpg

It’s so hot in Bohol, you will really need to ride the golf cart from your villa to the cafe and to the beach

eskaya-bohol-03.jpg

View of the beach  from on top.  You need to walk down to get to the beach

Roads to the villas.  There are only 15 villas in the resort

This is an art! I love it! They put the petals one by one!!!

Maharlika Filipino Moderno New York City

By | Foodie, Proud to be Pinoy!, Travel | 4 Comments

We heard about this Filipino restaurant from Tito Stephen and Tita Reg and I made sure we stopped by to check it out!! Thanks to Tita Reg for taking us!

maharlika-nyc-01.jpg

As soon as you enter, there is a condiment tray on the left Maggi savor and Jufran banana catsup!! My two favorite pinky sauces 🙂  Please forgive my photos as it was quite dark so some photos are blurred

maharlika-nyc-03.jpgabout-maharlika-1.jpg

Love the interiors of the place!

maharlika-nyc-02.jpg

The owners were there and are friends of Tita Reg, Noel Cruz and Enzo Lim.  Other owners are Nicole Ponseca and Chef Miguel Trinidad

maharlika-nyc-04.jpg

And the sister of Enzo who according to Tita Reg is a model!  Very pretty and tall indeed!

Love the t-shirts of the servers

A very small, nice and cozy place.  It’s so nice to have a place to go to that reminds you of home when you are far away

maharlika-nyc-024.jpg

And Tita Reg pointed out to us that it is so Pinoy to have a Last supper image in a Filipino dining table 🙂 and I remember my parents and my Lola having one

Mannequins

By | Fashion, Travel | 5 Comments

You have to be daring to do weird things…so I would say I am daring! and I guess that makes me weird!  haha!!

Outside the window of Tito Mandy’s condo, they spotted these 3 mannequins by the dump bin.  And Tito Mandy and Tita Reggie were daring to go and get them!  I don’t remember how I ended up getting them but we went down to look at them, saw that they were okay and I got excited!

mannequins-01.jpeg

Tita Reggie posing beside them for a photo opportunity 🙂

tita-reg-with-mannequins.jpg

I told our driver, Resty, to put down all the chairs in the car so the mannequins could fit!! haha!!

mannequins-03.jpeg

I’m watching him from upstairs getting the mannequins, I was embarassed to stay there 🙂 That is Bloomingdales on the backdrop- so we figured those are old mannequins that they are getting rid of.  So I classify them as vintage! haha

mannequins-05.jpeg

Resty laughing thinking that I am really crazy to make him do this 🙂

mannequins-04.jpeg

And the last one!  Having them shipped over to Manila and still wondering what I will do with them and where to put them 🙂

Condo in Soho

By | Homes and Interiors, Travel | No Comments

A beautiful condo in Soho by the friends of my Dad and Mom, Tito Mandy and Tita Chi! Their kindness is overflowing that they have become good friends with my Lolo, and other members of the family.  Such a wonderful and humble couple

condo-in-soho-018.jpg

The elevator leads up straight to the condo.  So Tito Mandy said he put this for additional security

condo-in-soho-016.jpgcondo-in-soho-02.jpg

You have to remove your shoes 🙂  I like it that they are particular about keeping the place clean!  Slippers are provided 🙂
