Tory Burch Fall 2010 Inspiration

We are constantly inspired by fashion, art and the way these two worlds influence each other. While designing Fall 2010, we envisioned the kind of girl who’s an art enthusiast, the girl you see in galleries in every city. She has an effortless, eclectic way of dressing and putting things together in unexpected ways. She’s smart, cool and aware of things going on in the world around her.

Fall’s color palette was inspired by Picasso’s Mosqueteros exhibit and Gerhard Richter’s abstract paintings. Neutral black, gray and camel are accentuated with bright pops of tomato red and electric blue. The collection focuses on a utilitarian edge infused with feminine details—the play of oilskin leather against sequins, loose knits against feathers, shearling with painterly prints. Slouchy, oversized silhouettes are worn with slim pants and workman’s-style boots. Layering is key—capes, jackets, coats, knit vests and sweaters. Accessories speak to ready-to-wear, completing the looks with square but slouchy bags, hoods, fingerless gloves and belts that are cinched over and under everything.

Jimmy Choo Autumn Winter 2010

 For Autumn Winter 2010, Jimmy Choo turns its focus to a tougher – albeit elegantly refined – sense of urban chic, with a line up of strong graphic shapes and bold design details such as sturdy lug soles, and dominatrix-corsetry lacing. Infuse to the mix luxurious shearling, a dash of leopard printed pony, and a host of Jimmy Choo design signatures – rivets, snake, and fringe – and feel empowered.

The notion of female empowerment has long been a mainstay of Jimmy Choo’s lexicon. Now, via bold print, provocative lines, and all-out sex appeal, Autumn Winter ushers in a host of beautiful, confidence-inducing styles.

 The essence of femininity and strength comes to the fore in FELINE, an evocative 110mm design which comprises sumptuous navy satin, corsetry lacing, and snake elaphe. A new urban energy is conquered in NICA, a roomy shopper in super soft black grainy leather with silver chain hardware which is a must-have for autumn’s ultimate urban uniform. The popular BLYTHE, a bold double zipped handbag featuring four, gold buckled stud straps on each side, debuts now in fierce, tobacco leopard print pony. Two Jimmy Choo signatures – fringe and studs – explode in TITA. TITA, a darling fringed little clutch, is revisited and refashioned this season in red nappa, elaphe and suede Jimmy Choo’s iconic SKY, a curvaceous and capacious chocolate brown hobo with arched handle comprises tier-upon-tier of studded frills. Who can resist the easy, uber-luxe, lightweight appeal of SILVIA, a slouchy suede shearling camel carryall, roomy enough for whatever the weekend might bring turn heads with CHANDRA, a Bordeaux-coloured printed mock-croc fold-over clutch with gilt-edged bracelet detail.

For star-studded evenings, look no further than Jimmy Choo’s decadent disco shoe JIGSAW, a 120mm platform heeled sandal in metallic suede anthracite studded in a constellation of generously sized Swarovski crystals: its dance floor-ready and guaranteed to arouse. Clean lines and simple elegance resonate in JULIA, a 85mm open-toe suede sandal embellished with racy chains. Raise temperatures in JOYCE, a multi-strapped two-tone leopard print pony sandal lifted up on a 85mm heel.

YSL and Stefano Pilati Announce the Fall Winter 2010/2011 Campaign

Yves Saint Laurent is pleased to announce the release of Stefano Pilatit’s Fall Winter 2010-2011 advertising campaign. Photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin under the creative direction of Stefano Pilati, the campaign features Daria Werbowy inside Hôtel de Clermont-Tonnerre, the Parisian headquarters of Artemis, the holding company for Yves Saint Laurent parent PPR. The campaign debuts in print in August 2010 issues worldwide. The campaign was shot at the headquarters of Artémis Group at Hôtel de Clerment-Tonnerre situated at rue François 1er in Paris.

Massimiliano Giornetti New Creative Director of the Salvatore Ferragamo Group

From the Fall Winter 2011 collection fashion designer Massimiliano Giornetti will also take on the role of Creative Director for all the product lines of the Salvatore Ferragamo Group, , one of the main global players in the luxury goods industry.

Coherently with the Florence-based fashion group’s brand vision strategies, Massimiliano Giornetti, who was in charge of the men’s and women’s ready to wear collections — will also be responsible for addressing the creative and style development of the different product categories of Salvatore Ferragamo.

With this new role Giornetti, who will report directly to Chief Executive Officer Michele Norsa, will guarantee the brand’s collections with a further coherence, in line with the philosophy of style that is typical of Salvatore Ferragamo.

BANANA REPUBLIC FALL 2010 ESSENTIALS

Cool down then warm up with Banana Republic this fall season, as we anticipate the transition from warm summer months to cooler times ahead.

Women can set themselves up for great fall pieces, in a range of browns and neutrals set in steely and soft blues. Key items include embellished tops and essential skirts that are effortlessly modern and easy to outfit around. This multifaceted vision is evident at every angle, from the alluringly tactile materials to the fluid palette and inviting silhouettes.
