BACK TO NATURE

SALVATORE FERRAGAMO UNVEILS ITS AUTUMN WINTER 2010 ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN BY BRUCE WEBER

The shots feature outdoor games in an atmosphere of relaxed elegance and a tranquil family setting surrounded by nature, in which animals and plant life play a part in the scene, helping to create a feeling of sophisticated energy and spontaneity.

Salvatore Ferragamo’s Autumn Winter 2010 Advertising Campaign was shot by Bruce Weber, who chose the exclusive White Oak Plantation at the border between Georgia and Florida as the location.

A natural park and wildlife conservation center, White Oak is home to animals at risk of extinction, enabling them to reproduce in a protected setting before they are released back into their natural habitats.

The women featured in the campaign are in the caliber of Stella Tenant, Bimba Bosé and Kirsten Owen with her two children; while the men include the model Peter Johnson with his children Kale, Lilly and McKenna, ranging from six to eleven years of age, guy Robinson and Kale.

The shooting took place in April 2010, the perfect time of year to capture the rebirth of nature at its most intense, offering an extraordinarily rich palette of greens, mosses, barks and blooms, with wildlife pictured in a handful of shots.

Indeed, it is this enchanting natural setting that emphasizes the extreme sophistication, fine handcraftsmanship and vitality of Salvatore Ferragamo collections.

The colors in the collection cover all the hues of the woodlands, while the tricot textures and leather jackets are intentionally rough and natural, and the leather in the shoes and bags have been knowingly crafted to enhance their natural and unique features.

The silk scarves printed with bright colors are pictured back in the environment that has always been a great source of creative inspiration for the brand and is the leitmotiv of the patterns and decorations: luxurious landscapes in the Savanna and forests, depicting wildcats and other wild animals.

A Sports Model Named Celtica by Charriol

celtica-watches-2.JPG

This powerful, new quartz-driven model is a chronograph equipped with calendar functions. The date is displayed by a central hand, and the day and month through windows.

The black PVD-coated bezel is enhanced by steel or pink gold-plated inserts on one or two levels with the crown bearing the logo and the ornamental arcs on either side of the case. The steel lugs respectively carry the C logo and the CHARRIOL name.

The brand’s signature Celtic spirit is echoed in the rubber strap with its six-row cabled motif.

This sporty 44 mm-diameter watch features a variety of strongly contrasting dials, including white mother-of-pearl and Kevlar counters or black guilloché and white Mother-of-pearl counters. Imbued with the distinctive Charriol identity, it will create a sensational effect on the wrist of dynamic men with discerning tastes.

Parisii Gold Plated Watch Collection – the New Ambassadors of Inimitable CHARRIOL Style

 parisii-gold-plated-watch-collection-2.jpg

Parisii watches, named after Celtic people that used to live where Paris now stands, represent the latest generation of strongly characterized Charriol watches.

They elegantly feature the famous cable pattern inspired by Celtic torques and picked up on the case middle, crown and bracelet of these models.

In 2010, the collection is appearing in particularly affordable two-tone variations combining gold plating with steel or ceramics.

The yellow gold-plated variations comprise a first model adorned with a steel cabled motif and a second distinguished by its two toned look – matching steel elements with gold-plated bezel and bracelet central links.

The round 42 or 33 mm-diameter cases house Swiss quartz movements driving central hour, minute and seconds hands.

The dials offer a shiny white color with gold plated hour-markers and Roman numerals all bearing the brand’s C logo.

Once classic and modern, Parisii watches are now the new ambassadors of the inimitable Charriol style.

In the Philippines Charriol is exclusively distributed by Stores Specialists, Inc. At-Home Beauty – with Helen Ambrosen, LUSH Co-Founder and Product Inventor

1. How do the at-home beauty recipes compliment beauty regimens someone might already be doing?

Hair recipe using apple juice

Take 1 tablespoon of apple juice and two tablespoons of lemon juice. After shampooing and conditioning, apply to the ends of the hair, leave for a minute and then rinse. This should give a nice shine.

This one is for use after you’ve shampooed and conditioned your hair.  It’s very hard to recreate in your home something like a shampoo – you can wash your hair with an egg, but it’s a bit messy and people like to be able to wash their hair in a modern way and have it squeaky clean.  These recipe supplements what people already do.  It’s a final rinse for the end of your regime – it will give an extra shine up-and-above what your conditioner will usually do.  The acidity of the apple juice will flatten the hair cuticle leaving it more reflective of light and, as such, a lot shinier.

Hair recipe using eggs

Eggs are really good for the hair and a great source of protein. Beat two eggs then add 1/2 teaspoon of olive oil. Olive oil improves the tensile strength of the hair. You can double up the quantities for longer hair. Massage the mixture in to dry hair, wrap a towel around your head and leave for 10 minutes. Shampoo and condition out. This is a lovely pre-treatment for the hair.

This is a pre-wash treatment … you would then use your shampoo and condition to finish the process.  The olive oil will help to improve the tensile strength of the hair – making it much less likely to break when you’re combing it after shampoo and conditioning.  When hair’s wet it’s at it’s most fragile – so this will help stop hair breakage.

The eggs will give softness and shine over-and-above what your normal conditioner will do.  Eggs are extremely mucilaginous – the residue will last beyond shampooing and conditioning – and a great source of nutrition, as they are full of protein.  They give a rich feeling to the hair, leaving it soft and shiny.

Body recipe using salt

Take 2 tablespoons of fine sea salt and mix to a paste with a heavy oil such as olive oil or even better, brazil nut oil. This is deeply nourishing for the skin, Wet the skin and apply to the backs of arms, legs and anywhere where the skin is rough. Don’t use on the décolleté area. Rinse off the skin.

This one can be used on its own … You probably wouldn’t need to do much more to your skin than that.  If you don’t like sulphactant or soap then this is a really good way of keeping your skin clean.  However, I would recommend using it as part of your beauty regime, as a treatment for when your skin is feeling a bit rough and in need of a good scrub.  Use it no more than once a week – skin will be left feeling exfoliated and softened.

2. What are some of the must-have ingredients you need? (for general at-home beauty care)

Beautiful vegetable oils – like olive and almond – are something you must have.

Fine sea salt is always very useful – can use these on your body or on feet

Other good things to have are fine oatmeal, ground almonds and honey.

With these staple ingredients, you can then make a lot of different things – a lovely facemask / salts for your bath / tie some oats and almonds in muslin – float in the bath water, squeeze out and pat on your skin / honey dabbed onto spots.

3. How did you come up with recipes that apply head to toe?

At Lush we use these materials all the time, so it’s not difficult to work out how to use them at home.  But Lush is a little bit like a fine restaurant – you can do it at home if you like, but you can also come to Lush and let us do it for you!

4. What are the cost benefits?

The staple ingredients are not expensive.  Remember to only use what you need, use it up and don’t waste it.

5. What are some of your favourite LUSH products?

It always has to be Ultrabland cleanser – I can’t live without it!  It’s such a beautiful, simple product that will thoroughly clean your skin and leave it soft and supple.  It’s so important to clean your skin at the end of the day and Ultrabland is the way to do it.

I also love Dream Cream body moisturiser– it’s great for both your hands and feet.
