Sponge rolls are available in strawberry, chocolate, coffee and cappuccino flavours for only P195 per box.  The pairing of a light golden sponge with strawberry jam and buttercream filling derives total satisfaction.

Japanese Snacks and Candies

By | What's New at Rustan's, Yummy! | 7 Comments

Heart2Heart goes crazy whenever in Japan! They have the widest assortment of snacks and candies!  I am so happy now, we do not have to go to Japan to enjoy them because they are now here in the Philippines!!!!!  Be assured that the Japanese have very strict controls when it comes to manufacturing which is why the prices may be higher than other Asian countries. Each product has to be tested and has to be approved.   So, not only are they YUMMY but they are SAFE YUMMY especially for kids who love to munch on these things!

Rustan’s Makati now has the best assortment followed by Rockwell.  They will be coming in little by little and more to come next week!  So keep visiting to find out what’s new.  You should be able to find them in the Japanese or Asian Section, checkout counters or in the snack and candy sections

Sizzling Sisig

By | Recipes, Yummy! | 10 Comments

Sisig is a very PINOY dish!!  Not so healthy but very YUMMY! 🙂  This is Heart2Heart’s Independence Day gift to all of you!  It is a good thing my cook is very generous and shares her recipes! She will teach anyone and she even made me take photos 🙂 Bear with me and I hope you all get this because she just showed me and I just documented it

Pigs cheeks and/or ears – boil until soft- my cook said there is no real time- she just makes sure it is soft- approximately around an hour

dsc_8011.JPG

Knorr, calamansi, onions, salt and pepper – Mix all of this together to make the sauce

dsc_8015.JPGdsc_8013.JPG

Deep fry the pigs ears and cheeks in oil

dsc_8017.JPG

until crunchy and crispy brown

dsc_8020.JPG

Chop into tiny pieces like this

dsc_8021.JPGdsc_8022.JPG

Add the sauce and mix

dsc_8023.JPG

Prepare your sizzling plate till it is hot

dsc_8018.JPG

Put the sisig mixture and mix and mix until the sauce mixes well with the sisig

dsc_8024.JPG

Tada!! 🙂

dsc_8026.JPG

I actually like mine with “tutong” or crispy underneath, then when eating, I add more knorr. YUM YUM!  My cook makes the best sisig!

Full Of Flavour, Nothing Added

By | What's New at Rustan's, Yummy! | One Comment

Marks & Spencer is proud to sell good food with nothing to hide

 msfood1.jpg

Since 1 April 2008, there have been absolutely no artificial colours or flavourings in any of Marks & Spencer’s food. The project to remove them took three years.

 msfood2.jpg

Marks & Spencer’s technical team faced some real challenges, particularly when removing artificial colours, but fruit and vegetable extracts were found to be effective substitutes. The new initiative covers all additives particularly associated with concerns about food intolerance and children’s diets, including artificial colours such as Ponceau 4R (E124), Sunset Yellow (E110), Carmosine (E122) and Quinoline Yellow (E104). Several studies have shown that many of these artificial additives can cause disruptive behaviour in young children, so by using only natural colours across their children’s food, including cakes and sweets, they’re giving their customers peace of mind as well as great flavour.

 msfood3.jpg

Removing all artificial colours and flavourings is another groundbreaking move from a retailer with industry-leading standards. Marks & Spencer hasn’t used hydrogenated fats in its food, for example, since March 2006. In October 2005, they removed all artificial flavourings, artificial colours and hydrogenated fats from all their chilled ready meals and no MSG. Ready meals are now available in the freezer cabinets of Shangri-La Plaza Mall, Glorietta 4, Greenbelt 5, Alabang Town Center and Rustan’s Fresh Power Plant Mall.  The most difficult is choosing!

All Marks & Spencer’s food is clearly labeled so that customers can see exactly what’s in it – or, in the case of artificial colours and flavourings, what’s missing. It’s all part of their commitment to selling good food with nothing to hide.

Marks & Spencer is exclusively distributed by Rustan Marketing Specialists, Inc. and is available at Greenbelt 5, Glorietta 4, Shangri-La mall, Gateway, Alabang Town Center, Trinoma, Megamall, Mall of Asia, SM Pampanga, Marquee Mall, Ayala Cebu, Robinson’s Place Malate, and SM North Edsa
