Bambee’s Juicer

By | Foodie, Green | 2 Comments

In one of our velada meetings, my good friend, Bambee, introduced me to her Hurom juicer.  She claims that it’s the best juicer in town!  and probably the most expensive too! 🙂

It’s available in Rustan’s department store!

She made one of her juice recipes for us

bambees-juicer-02.jpg

And here she is about to dunk the first cucumber and very happy to serve us healthy drinks 🙂

bambees-juicer-03.jpg

It separates the pulp from the juice

bambees-juicer-04.jpg

The pulp she says she still uses them by making them into cakes or other pastries

Yummy!

Happy Birthday Osquito

By | Celebrations, Foodie | 3 Comments

My friend, Bambi, always invites me and she makes sure she invites me way way in advance that sometimes I actually forget to put it in my calendar.  Yet I know she will not take it against me because she is my true friend 🙂  My hijado Osquito ( named after grandpa Oscar ) was celebrating his  first birthday so Mommy Bambi prepared a feast for the family.  She cooked everything ( except the arroz caldo and lechon)

 happybirthdayosquito-11.JPGhappybirthdayosquito-10.JPG

Turkey!

happybirthdayosquito-2.JPG

One of her specialties, lengua!  Wow, this was wiped out the first!  She sent this to us for Christmas too and was much appreciated

Paella

This was the only thing she did not make

happybirthdayosquito-5.JPG

Oh plus the lechon which flew in from Bacolod – and she made sure we got first and served us the skin.  Oh boy 🙂

Kiddie Spaghetti which I liked

Bambi made these chocolate lollipops for the kids

Bambi’s eldest son, Gigz, with Osquito my cute hijado!  I told her that Gigz is very handsome and is a Gary V in the making 🙂  And true enough she told me that he has been asked already to join showbiz! 🙂

happybirthdayosquito-14.jpg

Cakes cakes cakes!  There always has to be a chocolate one!

She also gifted Osquito for Christmas with a handpainted bag with his portrait on it.  Q for Quito

Crystal Jade Dining IN

By | Foodie | 2 Comments

Dad and Mom took us to Crystal Jade after having eaten there with their friends.  They enjoyed it and wanted us to try it

This was my favorite dish 🙂  Salt and Pepper Beancurd – we normally have salt and pepper everything – but this was my first time to try it with beancurd- I insisted we order this and it was popular

The Peking Duck was good

Second way as a soup

Fresh lobster.  We realized later on that the lobster they gave us was very big.  It would have been more tender had it been a smaller lobster and having two small ones instead of one big one

I was so happy to finally try TWG.  I have heard so much about it.  I have not tried it in Singapore or elsewhere so this will be my first ever TWG experience

twg-at-powerplant-mall-58.jpg

After being overwhelmed with all the things inside the store – from teas to candles to accessories – I went to the dining area

twg-at-powerplant-mall-12.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-15.jpgtwg-at-powerplant-mall-16.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-17.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-22.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-18.jpgtwg-at-powerplant-mall-27.jpg

Our table

twg-at-powerplant-mall-24.JPG

Everything is imported including the tablecloth which had TWG logos on it

twg-at-powerplant-mall-25.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-35.jpgtwg-at-powerplant-mall-40.JPG

Because there were so many teas to choose from, we did not know what to order 🙂  We took some time to decide on our tea

twg-at-powerplant-mall-33.jpg

Love the names of the teas.  I imagine the Starbucks baristas memorizing all the blends of coffee, and now trying to imagine how the staff in TWG can know all the 800 teas 🙂

twg-at-powerplant-mall-38.jpgtwg-at-powerplant-mall-39.JPG

Kurt was well versed about the teas

twg-at-powerplant-mall-59.jpg

This is where they get the teas

twg-at-powerplant-mall-20.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-21.JPG

They can bring it to you so you can smell it.  The smell is really so pronounced that you can really feel and taste it by just smelling it

twg-at-powerplant-mall-41.JPG

We were choosing between Happy or Sexy Tea.  I told them we are already happy and that we may need the sexy tea! So we finally decided on the SEXY TEA! 🙂twg-at-powerplant-mall-42.JPG

My pretty lunch mates who joined me – Mother daughter Ria and Dina – who actually look like sisters.  We shared everything since we wanted to try as many things as we could

twg-at-powerplant-mall-43.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-34.jpg

Our lunch

twg-at-powerplant-mall-29.jpg

Eggs Benedict

twg-at-powerplant-mall-48.JPG

I felt the Eggs Benedict needed a little more salt and pepper- even the salt and pepper are TWG 🙂

twg-at-powerplant-mall-49.JPG

Curried lamb stew

twg-at-powerplant-mall-45.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-28.jpgtwg-at-powerplant-mall-47.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-30.jpg

TWG Tea Lasagna – Bolognaise which comes with bread in a dainty doily to line it

twg-at-powerplant-mall-44.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-50.JPG

Ordered a side order of Rice Pilaf infused with Taiping Tea to go with the Curried Lamb stew

twg-at-powerplant-mall-46.JPG

And for dessert, we wanted to try another tea – this time iced!  We saw them preparing this for another table so we wanted to try it.  Very nice and refreshing to go with our dessert

twg-at-powerplant-mall-51.JPGtwg-at-powerplant-mall-52.JPG

You can buy the tea sugar in beautiful bottles

twg-at-powerplant-mall-64.JPG

Happy TWG customers

twg-at-powerplant-mall-54.JPG

We ordered a couple of desserts to try as well

twg-at-powerplant-mall-31.jpg

The waiter recommended the Singapore surprise since it was one of their bestsellers

twg-at-powerplant-mall-53.JPG

And we still had the Tea Pastries which I thought was a very good deal especially if you just want to have tea/high tea – this is P 150.00 for all of this – you can choose either Madeleines, Financiers, Muffins, scones or caneles and it comes with TWG Jelly and whipped cream

twg-at-powerplant-mall-57.jpg

You can buy the jelly as well in bottles

twg-at-powerplant-mall-65.JPG

And that was not yet it, we had sorbets

twg-at-powerplant-mall-32.jpg

Sakura Sakura Tea Sorbet

 twg-at-powerplant-mall-55.JPG

Napoleon Ice Cream which we liked very much

twg-at-powerplant-mall-56.JPG

Cute this tea – LOVE ME TEA 🙂
